Website information

Privacy

Privacy and discretion are central to Sisterhood. If you contact us or request a callback, we use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and understand whether the service may be suitable.

Who is responsible for the information?

The Sisterhood Home Companions, serving Bradford, West Yorkshire, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website and during the enquiry process.

What we collect through the website

The callback form asks for your name, phone number, optional email, relationship to the person who may use the service, broad area or postcode district, service interest, rough frequency, optional language preference and best callback time.

What we deliberately do not ask for here

Please do not send detailed medical information, medication details, door codes or a full home address through the public website form. More detailed information is only discussed later where it is genuinely needed for suitability and safe service delivery.

How the website handles enquiry information

A valid callback request is sent to Sisterhood’s business email so the enquiry can be followed up. The public website is not used to collect detailed client records. Standard hosting/server logs may also record technical information such as an IP address, browser and request time for security and operational purposes.

How long enquiry information is kept

Enquiry information is kept only for as long as it is genuinely needed for response and appropriate follow-up. If a family becomes a client, relevant information moves into the controlled client-record process and is handled under Sisterhood’s retention arrangements.

Who information is shared with

Enquiry information is kept private and is only used by people who need it to handle the enquiry or provide the agreed service. We do not announce who uses Sisterhood or share personal information with neighbours, friends or the wider community. Information may need to be shared where required by law or where action is necessary in response to a serious safety or safeguarding concern.

Family updates

A family member may arrange or pay for Sisterhood, but the wishes, dignity and privacy of the person receiving the service remain central. Paying for an adult client’s service does not automatically give access to every personal detail. Routine family updates are only provided where appropriate permission or authority has been agreed.

Our lawful basis for using personal information

Depending on the circumstances, Sisterhood may use personal information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a service agreement, to provide an agreed service, to meet a legal obligation, or because we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, administering the service and keeping people and the business secure. Where consent is genuinely required, we ask for it and it can be withdrawn.

Health and other sensitive information

If an enquiry progresses, we may sometimes need limited health-related or other sensitive information to decide whether Sisterhood is suitable and to deliver the service safely. We collect only what is necessary, restrict access to people who need it and handle it with additional care under applicable data-protection law. We do not ask for detailed health information through the public callback form.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion or restriction of information, or to object to certain uses. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Not every right applies in every situation, but you can contact Sisterhood if you want to exercise a data-protection right or ask how your information is being used.

If you have a concern

Please contact Sisterhood first if you have a privacy concern so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
